Project Beacon

Beacon: ‘a source of light, or inspiration’.  Concept:  to interpret the idea of a ‘beacon’ and transpose that to reflect the confluence of all participants and visitors in Nuit Blanche.  The intent of the construction is to provide a rustic gathering point, a verdant respite in the midst of the asphalt tributaries that have now replaced the Don Watershed.  We hope to provide a hive, a lookout, and demarcation point for the entire Cabbagetown celebration.  Using reused hydro poles, salvaged wood from urban forestry, wood and flotsam from the foot of the Don River.
