A little Case of the Great War – Magic Lantern Show

Projections, Parliament St., (Liquor store parking lot)
Before newsreels or radio broadcasts, newspaper reports were humanized
through the presentation of a Magic Lantern Show. Edgar Robertson’s 100
glass slides taken in 1918 – images of young men and women, officers, medics,
nurses, battlefields and factories – are as crisp today as they were nearly a
century ago. The images illustrate the innocence and insanity of what was to come.
